I have looked up to Patrick Hughes and his work for a very long time, so it was a no-brainer to reach out to him for this project. Patrick is a designer for Too Gallus, and was recently awarded Young Designer of the Year at the 2024 Scottish Design Awards, with Too Gallus also winning Design Agency of the Year.
The final report is a dual-publication, with dedicated space for each designer’s interview. It’s heavily text and image-based, inspired by Paddy’s own layout style: large blocks of text, bold type, experimental compositions - a shared trait Paddy had identified between our work.
I wanted to explore how text and image interact on the page, so I chose to riso print the entire publication, allowing for vibrant and unconventional layouts.
